The new Xiushui Market
Chinanews, Mar. 21 - The New Xiushui market received a group of special
visitors on its opening day today. Officials from the local Industry and
Commerce Bureau came to inspect the complex and crack down on trade in
fake goods. After finding pirated clothing, officials asked the
shopkeeper dispose of the knock-offs and issued him a warning.
At 9:00 am today, the New Xiushui met visitors from Sijiucheng with a new
look as well as tidy and bright shopping halls and 1,500 stalls.
Following the bustling customers, three groups of officials from the
local Industry and Commerce Administration conducted a sudden inspection.
At a clothing stall on the first floor, several pants with the name brand
"POLO" attracted officials' attention. Because the shopkeeper could not
give a reasonable explanation for the pants, officials asked him to
dispose of them. Some time later, officials found a few pirated POLO
t-shirts, Burberry and S.B. POLO garments.
